Founder of Interactive Brokers reveals holding Bitcoin
Thomas Peterffy, the founder of Interactive Brokers, a NASDAQ-listed major securities firm, revealed in an interview with CNBC that he has owned Bitcoin (BTC) for three years.
His company, Interactive Brokers, has recently launched its cryptocurrency trading services.
While discussing it, Peterffy mentioned his own Bitcoin holdings which he has been HODLing for three years, Blockworks reported on the 17th. “I have had Bitcoin for three years in my portfolio,” said Peterffy in the interview with CNBC.
“…There is a small chance that these cryptocurrencies could become very very valuable and you don’t want to not be exposed to them.”
On the 13th, Interactive Brokers partnered with New York-based FinTech Paxos to offer clients trading and storage services for four cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Peterffy’s Interactive Brokers is a major company that provides securities trading services in the United States and globally and manages assets worth $360 billion.
