PayPal announces new app for crypto and digital finance
Major payments company PayPal has launched a new one-stop app that can collectively manage digital finance including cryptocurrencies and daily finances.
According to the announcement, the app will support digital financial features such as international money transfers, buying and selling and holding cryptocurrencies, fiat currency, high-interest deposits, in-app shopping tools, and bill payments.
Wallet access will be available to manage cryptocurrency payments and high yield savings. The app will offer transactions and holdings of four crypto assets, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The press release did not mention any deposit/withdrawal function.
PayPal will offer access to a savings account with an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 0.40% on users’ savings.
Users will be able to withdraw their earnings from their accounts and transfer them to their PayPal balance.
Other features include managing all invoice payments within the app and getting rewards for loyalty programs.
