Interactive Brokers unveils crypto trading for financial advisors
Nasdaq-listed securities company Interactive Brokers has started offering crypto trading and storage services to Registered Financial Advisors (RIAs) in the US.
In September, the company began offering cryptocurrency trading and storage services to US residents. Now US residents and RIAs can both trade and store Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum, as per the announcement.
Also, the company has again partnered with Paxos for the new initiative. Paxos is a blockchain infrastructure that would facilitate public crypto trading for IB’s clients.
Paxos is also a partner of PayPal, which has recently started offering crypto trading services and acts as an intermediary for cryptocurrency transactions.
Steve Sanders, EVP of Marketing and Product Development at Interactive Brokers, said:
“Allocating a small percentage of assets to cryptocurrency as part of a well-diversified portfolio has steadily become more commonplace, and advisors may wish to recommend cryptocurrency to their clients.”
