Japan’s GMO to list Symbol (XYM) from Oct. 20
Major Japanese exchange GMO announced on the 7th that it will start handling cryptocurrency Symbol (XYM) from October 20 (Wednesday).
According to the announcement, the company will offer two targeted services: ‘Exchange (in-kind trading)’ and ‘Cryptocurrency lending assets’.
Just recently, Symbol was listed on crypto exchange Bitbank on the 5th, leading to a rise in XYM prices due to expectations from speculative demand and improved liquidity.
Following its establishment in March 2021, the token has been listed on four major exchanges including Zaif, Sakura Exchange, Bitbank, and now GMO.
XYM is the native currency of Symbol public blockchain, a new blockchain established by blockchain platform NEM. At the time of launching, XYM was distributed in a 1:1 ratio to holders of the XEM (NEM) coin.
Holders of 10,000 XYM and above can stake their tokens to become validators since the blockchain functions on a Proof-of-Stake mechanism.
