Landry’s to launch Bitcoin loyalty rewards in partnership with NYDIG
Restaurant and entertainment giant Landry’s has decided to leverage the growing crypto industry by introducing a Bitcoin rewards program for its 3.2 million members of Landry’s loyalty program – Landry’s Select Club.
The hospitality company has partnered with NYDIG, a popular US crypto investment company, to power its new program that lets users earn $25 worth of Bitcoin for every $250 spent at the giant’s franchise entities. Members of Landry’s Select Club will earn 1 point for every dollar they would pay at the restaurant. After earning 250 points, members can earn $25 worth of Bitcoin.
Based in Texas, Landry’s is well known for its number of restaurant franchises, including Bubba Gump Shrimp, Morton’s The Steakhouse, and the Rainforest Cafe, spread in over 500 locations across the country.
Furthermore, Landry’s will also hold a part of its financial assets in Bitcoin through its partnership with NYDIG. Trey Zeluff, Director of Digital Asset Strategy at Landry’s, said in a statement:
“Hospitality is the core of what we do, and offering great new options is an essential component of hospitality. We view bitcoin as a good choice for a portion of our own treasury, so we want to offer that choice to our customers as well.”
The chain previously adopted Bitcoin as payment for several of its restaurants back in April. In addition, Landry’s CEO Tilman Fertitta has been accepting crypto payments at his luxury car dealership Post Oak Motor Cars (POMC) since 2018. At the time, POMC had announced a partnership with NYDIG to help with Bitcoin operations.
