NBA shootout: Dallas Mavericks fan wins $100K in BTC
In its largest on-court promotion, NBA team Dallas Mavericks presented a fan with Bitcoins worth $100,000 in a National Basketball Association (NBA) shootout event.

Isaiah Stone won the prize after making a series of successful shots as part of the challenge. The challenge is frequently hosted by the NBA during half-time where fans are required to make a free throw, a three-pointer, and a half-court field goal to win the prize.
Stone scored all the shots and won the largest cash prize presented for an on-court promotion by any NBA team. The event was sponsored by crypto brokerage firm Voyager Digital, which has recently signed a 5-year partnership deal with Mavericks.
The match was won by the Mavericks after defeating San Antonio Spurs by 104-99.
Mark Cuban, a well-known investor and crypto proponent, is the owner of Dallas Mavericks. He has made several crypto-related investments, including investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum.
In March 2009, the team also announced that it would accept payments in Dogecoin (DOGE) when selling tickets and merchandise.
Mavericks had just realized its first crypto-partnership deal after partnering with cryptocurrency company Voyager on the 27th. As part of their five-year contract, the company and the team would carry out educational programs and community activities related to cryptocurrencies.
Commenting on the partnership, Cuban said:
“Crypto assets and applications are changing how business and personal finance are done. We believe our partnership with Voyager will allow Mavs and NBA fans to learn more about Voyager and how they can earn more from Voyagers’ platform than from traditional financial applications.”
