SEC public meeting to hold panel discussion on crypto assets
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is holding an open panel discussion on crypto and digital assets as part of the public meeting to be conducted on December 2.
As per the announcement, the panel discussion entitled, “Helping to Ensure Investor Protection and Market Integrity in the Face of New Technologies”, will invite participants from the private sector to discuss investor protection and market ethics surrounding crypto assets.
Topics of discussion will include a “regulatory framework covering digital assets, market structure issues, and defining risk in emerging technologies.” The panel may also explore topics of blockchain technologies, crypto-based ETFs, and stablecoins.
The panel will see participation from well-known experts in the area, including former CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad, Blockchain Association Director Kristin Smith, Gemini’s Chief Legal Officer Sydney Schaub, and Morgan State University professor and Director of the Center for the Study of Blockchain and Financial Technology Ali Emdad.
This debate will be held on December 2 at the Investor Advisory Committee from 10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
