Symbol completes implementation of hard fork upgrade ‘Cyprus’
Blockchain solution provider NEM announced on Thursday that its new chain Symbol (XYM) has successfully implemented the hard fork upgrade ‘Cyprus’.

Cyprus was successfully executed on November 11 at 04:25 pm UTC. Symbol’s parent company NEM revealed a host of changes that would come with the new update.
The Cyprus hard fork will burn all of the funds currently under the control of the Trust and the NxL entities and will re-mint new funds that will be transferred to new multi-signature wallets.

The hard fork upgrade has been a part of the new economic zone (ecosystem) envisioned by NEM and Symbol. In addition to Symbol, NEM blockchain has also introduced plans to implement a hard fork upgrade ‘Harlock’.
The schedule for the ‘Harlock’ upgrade would be announced on November 18th or19th.
