Calling Tezos its main technical partner, Vitality has entered a three-year contract with the blockchain protocol. According to the press release, the organization would be required to display the Tezos brand throughout the tournaments, likely via sponsorship logos flaunted on its players’ jerseys.
The alliance will especially focus on fan engagement and providing the community with “unprecedented access to their favorite teams, and reward them for their support.” Tezos will also leverage the platform to educate the global fan community on the benefits of blockchain and crypto-assets in terms of enhancing their gaming experience.
Nicolas Maurer, CEO of Team Vitality, commented on the deal:
“This is truly a game-changing partnership for Vitality, which feels appropriate given 2022 is set to be the biggest year in our history. The opportunities Tezos can bring to strengthen the relationship between us and our fans is incredibly exciting, and we’re immensely proud to have Tezos join us on this journey.”
Vitality is a Paris-based esports team that competes in top esports championships and popular games such as League of Legends, Fortnite, and Counter-Strike. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed despite calling it “one of the biggest in European esports history.”
Tezos, which regards itself as one of the top energy-efficient blockchain protocols, has joined the likes of crypto exchanges FTX, Coinbase, and Crypto.com who have made several big partnerships with esports championships and teams.
The PoS blockchain recently partnered with traditional gaming manufacturer Ubisoft to introduce in-game NFT items in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
