Three Samsung Smart TVs to feature NFT trading
In a move unpredictable to many, South-Korean mobile and home-appliance giant Samsung has unveiled three new Smart TV models that feature an “intuitive, integrated platform for discovering, purchasing and trading digital artwork.”
The TV models, called Micro LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame, were revealed by the company before the Consumer Electronics Show 2022. As per the announcement, the TVs will feature an NFT aggregation platform where users can browse through several platforms to check out NFTs for sale and purchase them via the TV itself.
Samsung said in the announcement:
“In 2022, Samsung is introducing the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator, a groundbreaking platform that lets you browse, purchase, and display your favourite art—all in one place. The platform is also great for NFT creators who want to share their art with the world.”
Global Giants like Samsung have become increasingly aware of the newest technology, which saw trading volumes in billions of dollars last year. In the third quarter of 2021 alone, the NFT volume shot to $10.7 billion, up by nearly eight times from Q2 2021.
